And More Glassware…

Icy Blue Crystal Decanter and Glass Service (LEO Design)

On this day in 1863, West Virginia was admitted into the Union, making it the  35th U.S. State.  It’s only fitting to feature some newly-acquired glassware made in West Virginia some one hundred years later.  And, of course, West Virginia was the center for some of America’s best Twentieth Century glassware.

The liquor service, shown above, was blown in icy blue glass—so typical of the late 1950’s and early 1960’s.  Perfect for serving a post-prandial “drop,” the stoppered decanter and six little glasses will conclude your meal with a feeling of cool refreshment.
